Sarah Giroux - Task #1

Hey Everyone,

So I decided to focus on Thomas Sthruth's cityscape photography. His cityscapes are evidently motionless and absent of high contrast lighting and shade. Consequently, when deciding what to do for my image I  simply decided to do the opposite.

  1. I like the idea of the night scene and the light trails but I noticed that the composition looks a little off balanced. Perhaps a shift or change of angle may change that.

  2. Hey Sarah!

I like your approach to flip Struth's stylistic approach! I think this image works well. Compositionally I think that you stayed quite similarly to the way Struth photographs in that there is a very centred feeling to most of his cityscape photography (Such as the photographs from his series Unconscious Places 2). But you can see in those how the timing you used (both exposure length, and time of day) you decided to go completely opposite to what he would normally photograph. Cool work Sarah!
