Anthony Bui - Task #4

Olaf Breunning's photographs and artworks are very strange. It took me a really long time to figure out what to shoot for this blog assignment.

I was inspired by one of his works where he merged animal bodies with humans. I decided to paint my face as my new puppy that received over the weekend. His name is Sawyer and I have a little obsession with him because he's my first dog and has been something I wanted for ages.

I decided to use his sense of humour, and noticed he also had a lot of body painting works, which inspired me to paint my own face.

My paint job isn't great, but I thought it added to the image.

I'm happy that I have stepped out of my comfort zone for this weeks assignment, because this is not something I normally do.

Anthony Bui Task #3

Alex Prager inspired me to do a photo shoot.
This is my first photo shoot, I don't often shoot people but I hope to practice more on portraiture in the future.
I lack the ideas of creative poses, thus some may appear as cliche. Too bad I was limited from my small room and was not able to get the studio. Wish I was able to explore more angles if I had the space.

I've incorporated different styles from Alex Prager and focused on them individually in each photograph.

Such as: retro clothing, excessive make up, dramatic lighting, and using bold colours.

I uploaded 4 as a  mini series, but if you guys have a preference of the strongest one and think I should take the rest out let me know.

The Walking Man By: Anthony Bui Task #2

Most of Amy Stein's work consist of series which inspired me to make my own series of a walking man. Using the environment to frame the subject, I captured a mysterious man travelling under a bridge.

All of the photo's are taken separately and I stitched them together in photoshop.
I thought that the photo's were equally appealing separate as they were together.

JPEG and the constant downsizing really ruined the quality of the images :(

Anthony Bui - Task #1

This image was taken at an abandoned wasteland. Inspired by Thomas Struth's symmetrical and deserted elements in his photographs to compose this image.

Thomas Struth also doesn't like much contrast in his images, so I bumped my contrast down. Which is the opposite of what I would usually do in my black and white images.
