KILL THE QUEEN
When I researched Alex Prager's work I notest a theme of 60/70's era woman photographed through various low and high angles. They'd appear to be almost doll like, perfection if you will. I found using a barbie best established the appeal of the woman Alex Prager photographed. Flawless, beautiful, and you almost want to hate them. I felt that it'd be fun to steer away from using people for this week's photo considering Alex Prager's work doesn't consist of any still life. I thought i'd go for something a little bit more disturbing but with a comical twist, I created a barbie dart board.

Hope you guys like it :)

aha cool idea! I like the colours and reflection in the knife on the left. Only suggestion would be to brighten it in curves to make her face more visible and bring back detail in the knives, but other than that nice work

You made a very wise choice with the circular border, I think it really strengthens the piece. I also think the lighting was well executed, keeping shadow behind the leg to define her body instead of trying to create a flawless backdrop.
ReplyDeleteI have to agree with Heather here, you definitely need to strengthen the up the levels and vibrance within this image. Besides that easy fix I think you have created a really beautiful image here, that goes beyond what the project asks for.
It was the small decisions that have made a big impact in the outcome in this piece, great work.

Love this.
ReplyDeleteVery effective, great concept! Only thing that I find distracting from the image is the reflection in the knife, but that is what a knife does so it's not necessary at all that you edit it out, but you might consider it!
