Task #2 Emily Pleasance
This is my photo inspired by Amy Stein. I found when looking through her body of work that she would highlight the presence of a community or emphasized the lack of community/isolation amongst one another. I though of Dundas Square to be the heart of our neighbourhood, where there is always action, people, and entertainment. Yet, even while I walk here I realize that the only 'community' I know is the friends I am walking with through the city's hot spot, and that the people all around me are just a blur or an illusion of this feeling of community that I believe to have.

I like the low perspective of the camera, it makes the viewer feel separate from the situation which I think goes along well with your idea. I also like that you can't see their faces for the same reason. Also, the blur makes it seem like interaction with these people is impossible because they're in such a hurry. Nicely done!

This is wonderful! I love the blur. The lighting is obviously in the style of Stein, and I like that (the whites being pure white). I think this is a wonderful concept.

I agree with the others, great concept and good idea to crop out the heads. Do you have a horizontal version of this?
