"Cement Walls and Fences" - Amy Stein's work explores, as she explained in an interview, "...the isolation of the individual from themselves, society and the environment." My idea is to capture the literal separation of people from each other. Apartment buildings are a perfect example of how our culture has become obsessed with privacy and declined in human interaction. Balcony's are separated by cement walls and fences to block out any contact; when and why did this shift to such unneighbourly culture happen?
Solid concept, Heather. I'm not sure if the crop is doing it justice though; perhaps show more of these units to further illustrate the literal separation of many people.
