NICOLE HAYNES, TASK #2

Amy Stein had said she "explores evolving isolation from community, culture and the environment" I wanted to capture an image where people were isolated from the rest of the community and looked like they were out of place in society. This was taken outside of the Eaton Centre, and they were young travellers asking for money so they could continue to travel.

  1. I think this relates really well to photographer Amy Stein, it is flexible when it relates to different series but it reminds me of the series "Stranded". These people have traveled all of this way and have no where to go, so they result to sitting on the street corners. There emotions are quite confusing with the topic of them being stranded they look quite calm and happy about where they are even though it is along a street corner.

  2. I'm glad your shot was candid just like Amy Stein's work, very casual and easy to tell you drew from her style!

  3. I really like that their situation and their expressions are so contradictory, it makes you think! I also like the composition --the dog looking toward the camera draws us into the scene and the group as a whole keeps the eye moving around. Nice job

  4. Hi Nichole

Do you have this in colour? The black and white feels like it's over-romanticizing the image. I'm also not crazy about the POV if you have something more frontal. The composition is quite weak at this point.
